Empowering needy to move beyond mere survival Spandana Foundation has been supporting several orphans, senior citizens, HIV positive Kids , Spandana school, kids with special needs and meritorious but poor students in India for the past 12 years. Apart from these, we have our own Spandana Digi school and we also issue merit scholarships to number of college students. We have been supporting these initiatives using the funds raised through different fundraisers like Sports tournaments, Cultural events, Art competition, Spelling Bee and many more variety of events organized across all major cities in USA.
Maintenance cost of these initiatives have tripled in last 5 years and day by day it's getting tough for the foundation to support these initiatives from the reserve fund. Hence, we are requesting our community members to come forward and give us a helping hand by adopting a needy by contributing some portion of expenses. We were able to help thousands of needy people with your support and encouragement for past 12 years and we need your help again to assure that support in future also. Spandana is very happy to announce $ADAY project to support needy people in India. With your generous contribution of just 1 dollar a day ($30 per month), we can assure continued support to these underprivileged and very well deserving needy people back at home.
Spandana Spelling Bee 2018 A Charity fundraiser to support needy back at home
Spandana Spelling Bee 2018 was successfully organized in Montgomery Upper Middle School, New Jersey on November 18 th, 2018. This was our second annual Spelling bee event in this area. Around 150 kids participated in three different categories of Junior, Intermediate and Senior. Top 5 contestants from each category were awarded with winners trophies and certificates. All the participants received participation certificates. Around 40 adult and youth volunteers actively involved to make this charity fundraiser event a huge success. Presidents Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA) for the year of 2017 were presented to 22 youth/adult volunteers for their outstanding volunteer services towards the community.   Bay Area Laser Dandiya Event Supporting the victims of a powerful natural calamity by displaying the force and compassion of humanity - A fundraiser to support Kerela Flood Relief activities  Spandana Bay Area Dandiya event was held on October 13th, 2018 in Gale Ranch Middle School, San Ramon. This sold-out event was attended by over 400 people and all the proceeds of this laser dandia event will be used to support Karala Flood Relief activities.

 Diwali Dhamaka in Florida Let's have fun while helping a needy back at home Spandana Diwali Dhamaka celebrated in Boca Raton, Florida was a grand success with over 1000 attendees. Around 20 volunteer families have spent number of hours for more than one month to make this event a huge success. All proceeds from this event would be used to issue Spanada scholarships to meritorious but poor students and also to support Spandana orphanage home.
