Laxminagar Water Plant The future of Country lies in it's Villages The villages are main pillars to our country. In order to make villages self-sustainable, Spandana Foundation requesting all of our members to come forward and adopt their own village to make it a progressive model village. As part of this initiative, Spandana Foundation adopted a village called Laxminagar in Papannapet Mandal in Medak District of Telangana State. This village has been suffering from serious inherent problem in terms of Water. Hardness and Fluoride levels in water are causing various health issues to villagers. As every one knows ,70% of all health problems are due to impure drinking water. The short term problems are cholera, typhoid, diarrhea etc. Long term problems are stones in kidneys, bone problems, knee joint problems etc. Sensing the problem ,Spanadana Foundation helped the villagers to install proper Water Treatment Plant in the village. This Water Plant gives properly purified drinking water to all the vilagers @ 3 INR/20litres against commercial drinking water @ 20 INR/litre. Water plant is under construction now and estimated to complete by Jan 2015. Revenue will be generated by selling the excess capacity water. Generated revenue will be used for regular maintenance and towards other development activities to make it a self sustaining model village.
